Biography and creative way

maryna-melnyk-ukrainian-artist

Maryna Melnyk is an Ukrainian artist.

She was born in 1982 in Kyiv.

She began her professional studies at the Institute of Postgraduate Education (IPO) in 2000-2003, where she obtained the qualification of a fashion designer.

She began her career as a make-up artist and hairstylist on television in Kyiv. In total, she worked on television for 15 years.

Painting and drawing were just a favorite hobby for a long time, because choosing the path of an artist was always "not at the right time." Maryna was left without a father from an early age and strove for financial independence to help her mother. But even in choosing a profession that was not exactly her dream, Maryna got as close as possible to the world of art, where her creative potential always found an outlet in other types of activity.

2004 - 2006, she graduated from the correspondence department of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, majoring in "Art" and obtained a bachelor's degree in style design.

The period of the pandemic and the forced break in work became the period of "silence"  for her, in which enlightenment and gradual awareness of one's purpose and the life path one wants to follow comes.

  2019 - study at Art-Time Studio (Kyiv).

2021-2022 studies at the School of Contemporary Art (Kyiv).

The teachers:  art critic, art expert and curator Victoria Burlaka, famous Ukrainian artists Anton Logov and Valentin Chornyi.

It was during these years, after the pandemic, that Maryna began her conscious journey as an artist.

Because of the war started by Russia in Ukraine, Marina was forced to leave with her daughter and mother to Great Britain, where she continues to be creative.
